These jumpers are cut with quite a square fit and less-fitted hand. They are also each hand-knitted, so the size can vary ever so slightly from garment to garment. They are designed for a fuller, boxier cut - a lovely cosy embracing feel - but if you did prefer slightly narrower, you could hop down a size (bear in mind the hem might be shorter then than you're used to, though, because of the boxy cut). 

Ladies often wear these jumpers down a size to fit slightly better.

It’s worth noting that, in general, if the garment you’re buying is a big investment and you’re sitting between sizes then it’s worth erring on the side of caution and getting a slightly larger size, so that you can always fit it. There’s nothing more likely to put you off wearing something day in, day out if it’s always slightly too small or tight.
